1. Composition:
a) The chairperson shall be elected by the House of Delegates and shall serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
b) Membership shall consist of 4 additional members appointed by the Board of Directors, giving consideration to diversity in geographic location, workplace position, and minority status.

2. Term of Office
a) The chairperson shall serve for four years.
b) Committee members shall serve for two years, or until a successor is appointed.

3. Responsibilities:
a) Initiate legislative action under the direction of the Board of Directors as appropriate to promote nursing or improve healthcare to the citizens of Louisiana.
b) Recommend a position on legislation related to nursing and healthcare issues to the Board of Directors.
c) Develop and disseminate lobbying strategies for LSNA.
d) Keep membership informed about important legislation pertinent to nursing.
