Continuing Nursing Education

The value of continuing nursing education (CNE) is immeasurable in maintaining a current knowledge base. Not only is CNE required for licensure as a registered nurse in Louisiana, it is also mandated by many accrediting agencies. Any registered nurse or advanced practice registered nurse who maintains certification through a nationally recognized nursing organization must have at least 50% of their requisite continuing education hours provided by an ANCC-approved organization.

LSNA’s Provider Unit and Approval Unit have both been awarded full approval from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Therefore, the CNE contact hours that are either approved or provided by LSNA meet national standards and are accepted throughout the United States.
